Ekiti Dental Art Competition 2020

Dentalcare Foundation is pleased to announce Ekiti Dental Art Competition 2020. We want to hear from young people independent of whether they’re in school or not on what oral health means to them . All entries important and all voices matter.

Theme: My Smile, My Pride

Eligible Participants

Senior Category:
Students in SSS1 – SSS 3 currently in Secondary Schools in Ekiti State/If not in school must be between age (14 to 18)
Essay or Poetry on the theme

Rules
• The Competition is open to only students in Senior Secondary Schools
• Entries must be handwritten in English and be the original work of the writer
• Entrant must submit an essay on the  entry form and complete all the mandatory fields
• The maximum word-counts are 1000 words.
• Entries will be disqualified if they fail to meet these requirements
• Entries must be the original work of the writer.  This does not rule out input or assistance from others
• Entrants are encouraged to be creative in their response to the topic
• Award-winning entrants are expected to show originality, focus on the theme and competent use of English as a written language.  This includes correct spelling, a good standard of punctuation and neat presentation.

Junior Category:

Students in JSS1 – JSS 3 currently in Secondary Schools in Ekiti State/If not in school must be between Age (8 to 14)
Drawing or Painting on the Theme

Rules and Regulations
Specifications:
Format: Painting, Drawing, Mixed Media, Poster
Medium: Poster colour, Water colour, Pastel, Pen & ink, Gouache, Oil colour, Acrylic, Pencil etc.
Size: Not exceeding 60cm x 45cm (Posters Only)
Colour: Freestyle

Terms and Conditions

• The competition is open to residents of Ekiti State
• Entrants must select a Senior or Junior Category depending on their class or age.
• The maximum word counts are 1,000 words for Senior entries. These word limits apply to all formats (essay and poem). Exceeding the word count will result in automatic disqualification.
• Only one entry per participant is allowed. Please carefully check and improve your writing before submitting the final copy, and also ensure that all supplementary information is filled in correctly (name, contact details, topic number, etc.)
• All entrants retain the copyright rights that they have for the pieces they submit, but by entering for this Competition, each contestant consents to the use of his/her name, and/or pieces or parts thereof in any advertisements, educational materials, corpus research or media and publicity carried out or produced by Dentalcare Foundation without further notice or compensation. We can publish or decline to publish; use or decline to use, any submitted pieces at our sole discretion.
• The final copy submitted for the competition must be the entrant’s own work, and cannot be excessively corrected or improved by another person. This does not rule out input or assistance from others.
• Dentalcare Foundation retains the right to change the prize of the competition if circumstances make this necessary.
• Plagiarism is not accepted and anyone suspected of this will be disqualified.

Participants are advised to adhere strictly to the theme and rules of the competition.
